QUALITY GLITTER
JAWEL Polyester Glitters are precision cut, highly reflective particles of vacuum metalised epoxy coated polyester foil. These offer a wide application range, high levels of resistance to solvents, good temperature resistance and excellent light fastness. All our glitters are EN-71 Part 3 approved and a range colours are available.
JAWEL BLING AUTOMOTIVE CRYSTALINA / ALPHA GLITTER
JAWEL Crystalina H400 is precision cut, IRIDESCENT particles consisting of a polyester / acrylic optical core with a polyester outer layer. Designed for application requiring solvent resistance, these offer a wide application range and excellent light fastness. EN-71 Part 3 approved and a range of colours are available.

Loadings
Depending on the effect required 15% glitter by weight will give a good glitter coverage in paint application. Some paints require a much lower loading. (1 x 250ml size pot contains aprox.173 gram)
Application
Spraying, we recommend Gravity feed cup or HVLP gun at about 50-70 psi. Pressure with a nozzle aperture of about 1.4 – 1.6mm this will spray glitter up to .015” (400 micron)
Step (1) Base the vehicle in a polyester basecoat (colour of your choice)
Mixing ratio: 1 part base paint 1 part 2k / Basecoat thinner.
Step (2) Add 85 gram flake to 1lt of base fixative 577 and thin 1 part fixative 1 part
2K /Basecoat thinner Stir or agitate the glitter / paint mix before use and at regular intervals.
Apply 3 light coats leaving 15-20 minutes flash off time between coats, the more coats you apply will give a heavier concentration of flake, when desired effect has been achieved leave to flash off, approx 30 minutes.
Step (3) Lacquer finishing coat, We recommend 2k acrylic Clear Lacquer HS, Mixing ratio: 2 parts Clear lacquer 1 part 2k activator and 1 part 2k/Basecoat thinner.
Apply 1 light coat leave for 15 minutes followed by 2 more full coats leaving 15 minutes between coats, in certain cases additional coats of lacquer may be required, we recommend you leave for 24 hours then lightly flat with 1500 grit wet or dry paper before applying additional coats.
