1K Synthetic Paint – Gloss / Satin / Matt (Brush • Roller • Spray)
Our 1K Synthetic Paint is a single-pack, solvent-based synthetic (alkyd) topcoat designed for a hard-wearing finish on general industrial and maintenance work. It’s fast drying, durable, and available as a brushable, rollerable, or sprayable version to suit the job.
We can mix this paint in a wide range of solid colours, including:
-
RAL
-
British Standard (BS)
-
Agricultural colours
-
Automotive solid colours
Solid colours only – no metallics.
Surface preparation
For best results, ensure surfaces are clean, dry, sound, and free from oil/grease. Over existing coatings, degrease, abrade (P360–P400), then final clean before painting.
Application & mixing (Brush / Roller / Spray)
Brush / Roller (brushable / rollerable version)
-
Apply 2 even coats to achieve the recommended film build.
-
Thinning: keep to a minimum; satin guidance is typically 0–5% only if needed for flow.
Spray (sprayable version – gravity feed)
Typical starting guide at 20°C:
-
Nozzle: 1.3–1.5 mm
-
Air pressure: 2–3 bar
-
Thinning: 15–25%
-
Coats: typically 2 coats x ~25 microns DFT, with ~10 minutes flash-off at 20°C
Note: Some very dark colours (especially deep blacks) may dry more slowly; if you’re ordering a very dark shade and need faster turnaround, ask us for the best approach.
