1K Skip & Container Paint, Quick Drying & Anti Corrosive

Our 1K Skip & Container Paint is a fast-drying, single-pack direct-to-metal coating designed for skips, shipping and storage containers, industrial equipment and other demanding metal applications.

Formulated for direct adhesion to iron, steel, aluminium and galvanised surfaces, it provides excellent anti-corrosive protection and a tough, durable finish. Its quick-drying formulation helps reduce downtime during refurbishment and maintenance work, making it ideal for commercial and industrial use.

Surface Preparation

Correct preparation is essential for reliable adhesion and long-term performance. Ensure the substrate is clean, dry and free from grease, oil, dust and loose material before painting.

• Remove rust, scale and corrosion where necessary.
• Remove any loose or flaking existing paint.
• Ensure the surface is sound and properly prepared before application.
• The coating is suitable for direct application to correctly prepared iron, steel, aluminium and galvanised surfaces.

Mixing & Spray Setup

• Stir the paint thoroughly before use.
• For spray application, thin with 40–50% Jawel Synthetic Thinners.
• Recommended spray nozzle: approximately 1.3–1.5 mm.
• Recommended spray pressure: approximately 2–3 bar.
• Apply 2 even coats.
• Allow approximately 10 minutes flash-off between coats.

Application

• Suitable for brush or spray application.
• Apply 2 smooth, even coats for best durability.
• Recommended total dry film thickness is approximately 45–55 microns.
• Avoid excessive film build.
• Ensure complete coverage, particularly around edges, seams and hard-to-reach areas.

Coverage

Theoretical coverage is approximately 7.5–10 m² per litre, depending on film thickness, substrate condition and application method.

Drying & Curing

At approximately 20°C:

• Touch dry: approximately 4 hours.
• Through dry: approximately 6–7 hours.
• Maximum performance: approximately 15 days air drying.

Do not oven cure. Allow the coating to air dry fully for maximum performance. Drying times may vary depending on temperature, ventilation, film thickness and application conditions.

Practical Application Tips

• Apply only to clean, dry and well-prepared surfaces.
• Remove loose rust and corrosion before painting.
• Apply 2 coats for best protection and finish.
• Work in a clean, dry and well-ventilated area.
• Pay particular attention to edges, seams and difficult-to-reach areas.
• Suitable for demanding environments and outdoor use.

Equipment Cleaning

• Clean brushes, rollers and spray equipment immediately after use.
• Use a suitable cleaning thinner.
• Do not allow paint to dry inside application equipment.
• Dispose of paint, thinner and contaminated waste responsibly and in accordance with local regulations.

Safety & Storage

• Professional solvent-based coating.
• Wear suitable gloves, eye protection and appropriate respiratory protection.
• Keep away from heat, sparks and ignition sources.
• Store in a sealed container between 5°C and 30°C.
