2K PVC Paint (uPVC)

Our 2K PVC Paint is a durable two-component coating specially formulated for PVC and uPVC surfaces. Designed to provide excellent adhesion, flexibility and chemical resistance, it produces a tough satin / semi-gloss finish suitable for both decorative and protective applications.

Ideal for uPVC window frames, doors, pipes, fittings, cladding and siding, the coating adheres directly to correctly prepared PVC and provides long-lasting colour and protection against everyday environmental exposure.

Applied by spray, the system combines a 4:1 paint-to-hardener mixing ratio with controlled film build for a smooth, durable professional finish.

Surface Preparation

Correct surface preparation is essential for reliable adhesion. Ensure the substrate is clean, dry and free from grease, wax, silicone, dirt and other contamination before painting.

Bare PVC / uPVC

• Clean the surface thoroughly using a suitable panel wipe.
• Allow the surface to dry completely before application.
• Ensure no silicone, polish, wax or other contamination remains on the substrate.

Previously Painted Surfaces

• Remove loose or poorly adhered previous coatings.
• Sand sound existing paint with approximately P360–P400 abrasive.
• Clean thoroughly again with panel wipe before applying the PVC coating.

Mixing & Spray Setup

• Stir the paint thoroughly before mixing.
• Mix 4 parts 2K PVC Paint with 1 part 2K Hardener.
• For spray application, add approximately 10–15% 2K Thinner.
• Recommended spray nozzle: 1.3–1.5 mm.
• Recommended spray pressure: approximately 2–3 bar.
• Apply 2 even coats.
• Allow approximately 10 minutes flash-off between coats.
• Pot life: approximately 6 hours at 20°C.

Application

• This product is designed for spray application.
• Apply 2 smooth, controlled coats for best finish and durability.
• Recommended dry film build is approximately 2 × 25 microns.
• Avoid excessive film build, which can affect drying and finish quality.
• Work in a clean, well-ventilated spray area.
• Select the appropriate hardener and thinner according to temperature and job size.

Coverage

Approximate coverage is 4–6 m² per litre, depending on substrate condition, application method and film thickness.

Drying & Curing

At approximately 20°C:

• Handling dry: approximately 3–3.5 hours.
• Through dry: approximately 24 hours.
• Pot life: approximately 6 hours.

For forced drying, the coating can be dried for approximately 45 minutes at 60°C.

Allow the coating to air dry fully for maximum performance. Drying times may vary according to temperature, ventilation, film thickness and application conditions.

Practical Application Tips

• Stir the paint thoroughly before mixing and application.
• Only mix the quantity of paint you expect to use within the product’s pot life.
• Do not use activated material once its pot life has expired.
• Keep the spray area clean, dry and well ventilated.
• Maintain the recommended film build rather than applying excessively heavy coats.
• Ensure the PVC surface is completely free from silicone, wax and grease before painting.

Equipment Cleaning

• Clean spray equipment immediately after use.
• Use a suitable cleaning thinner.
• Do not allow activated 2K material to harden inside spray equipment.
• Dispose of paint, thinner and contaminated waste responsibly and in accordance with local regulations.

Safety & Storage

• Professional solvent-based 2K product.
• Wear suitable gloves, eye protection and appropriate respiratory protection.
• Use only in a properly ventilated working area.
• Keep away from heat, sparks and ignition sources.
• Store in a sealed container between 5°C and 30°C.
• Always follow the product label and relevant Safety Data Sheet before use.
